Former Alabama DL Arrested For Domestic Violence
Former Alabama and NFL defensive lineman, Marcell Dareus, has been arrested in Hoover, Ala., on domestic violence charges.
Per AL.com, the 34-year-old turned himself in to the Jefferson County Jail at 2:32 p.m. Monday.
Dareus was later released after posting a $36,000 bond.
Hoover Police were called by a woman on December 30 for a domestic violence incident, whom she identified as Marcell Dareus.

According to Hoover Police Captain Keith Czeskleba, Dareus allegedly pushed his girlfriend to the ground and used an object to damage her personal property of more than $2,500, following a verbal argument.
Dareus helped lead the Crimson Tide to their 13th national title before entering the 2011 NFL draft, where he was selected No. 3 overall by the Buffalo Bills. Dareus spent nine years in the NFL, with his last season coming in 2019.
Per AL.com, Dareus' attorney, Tommy Spina, has not seen the evidence.
“As with all individuals charged with a crime, an allegations by the state of Alabama is merely an accusation that has to be proven to a jury’s satisfaction beyond a reasonable doubt,’' Spina said. “Until that occurs, he is entitled to the constitutional protections of the presumption of innocence.” Spina said in a statement to AL.com.
