Former Alabama Guard Announces Transfer Destination
Former Alabama star Jahvon Quinerly has officially announced his transfer destination, heading up I-22 to play for Penny Hardaway and the Memphis Tigers. Quinerly entered the transfer portal on June 25.
Quinerly made the announcement via Twitter early Thursday evening.
Quinerly spent his freshman season at Villanova, entering the portal at the end of the season. The N.J., native transferred to Alabama, however, Quinerly was forced to sit out a year due to NCAA transfer rules.
Once Quinerly eventually stepped foot on the court, he became one of the best players on the roster, averaging 11.8 points and 3.7 assists a game leading Alabama to three straight tournament appearances.
During his three years at the Capstone, Quinerly received All-SEC tournament team honors in 2021 & 2023, including the MVP in '21. Quinerly was also named SEC Co-Sixth Man of the Year in 2023.
JQ is the third scholarship player to announce his transfer destination, joining Nimari Burnett (Michigan) and Jaden Bradley (Arizona).
