Former Alabama running back Eddie Lacy will be chronicled by the ESPN series E:60 in a feature on what motivates for the former Crimson Tide star. A trailer from the story can be seen above and will air on April 23rd at 6 p.m. CT.

It will not be the first time Lacy has been followed by ESPN crews as a feature was written on the Geismar, LA native around the Alabama-LSU game in November.  The story, which can be found here, tells the tale of a displaced running back (due to Hurricane Katrina), who finally found peace, and a home at the Capstone.

Lacy was a heralded running back coming out of high school, considered by the major recruiting websites to be a four star prospect.  However, he was also part of a class that featured Heisman Trophy finalist Trent Richardson and came to campus during Mark Ingram’s Heisman Trophy season. Entering a crowded backfield Lacy stayed patient, redshirting his first year at Alabama before receiving limited carries in his freshman season.

Then in 2011, moving up to the depth chart to the number two spot, Lacy began to turn heads when Alabama rotated Richards onto the sidelines for a rest.  With just 95 carries, Lacy rushed for 674 yards and 7 touchdowns as he showed flashes of what he could do as the lead running back.

Finally taking the top spot on the depth chart in 2012, Lacy delivered, even after battling nagging injuries throughout the course of the season. On the biggest stages, Lacy erupted; a 20 carry 181 yard, 2 touchdown performance in the SEC Championship Game followed by another 20 carries for 140 yards and a score against Notre Dame to help lead Alabama to a national championship-the school’s 15th.
