Former Alabama Right Fielder Signs With Nationals
Former Alabama right fielder Andrew Pinckney has signed with the Washington Nationals, according to senior writer for MLB Pipeline Jim Callis.
"4th-rder Andrew Pinckney signs w/ @Nationals for $500k (pick 102 value = $660,000). @AlabamaBSB OF, all-around athlete with solid power & arm strength, plus speed. Went 3-for-3 w/HR off Paul Skenes in April," tweeted Callis.
Pinckney spent three seasons at the Capstone (2021-23). Last season, he recorded 79 hits, 58 runs batted in, 55 runs, 40 walks, 18 home runs, 12 doubles, eight stolen bases, three triples, and a .339 batting average.
He was the first of six Alabama baseball players to be drafted in this year's MLB Draft earlier in the month. The Nationals took him with the No. 102 overall pick.
