TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — As the summer that featured Alabama's first Men's College World Series trip in 27 years wanes to a close, so does the college baseball off-season.

Draft:

Four members of the 2026 Crimson Tide squad were selected in the MLB draft, moving the figure under Rob Vaughn to 13 in total. Justin Lebron's selection in the first round of the MLB draft also marks three straight first-round selections out of the University of Alabama for the first time in program history.

Selected/signed:

  • Superstar infielder Justin Lebron was the first member of the Crimson Tide selected, going with the 18th pick in the first round of the MLB draft
  • Friday night ace Tyler Fay was the next member of the Crimson Tide to be taken off the board. The Pittsburgh Pirates picked up the Nebraskan with the 169th pick of the MLB draft.
  • Two selections later, the Baltimore Orioles scooped up starter Zane Adams with pick 171, taking the second part of Alabama's weekend rotation.
  • The final Alabama player to be selected is backstop Brady Neal, joining Lebron in Cincinnati.
  • Despite going undrafted, the St. Louis Cardinals picked up John Lemm as an undrafted free agent. Outfielder Bryce Fowler and pitcher Hagan Banks both signed with the Minnesota Twins
  • A pair of incoming transfers, Dylan Marrioneaux and Garrett Lambert, will not make their way to Tuscaloosa as both were selected and signed with the Chicago Cubs and Colorado Rockies, respectively.

Transfer Portal:

Departures:

  • Rising junior infielder Jon Young Jr. departed the program, joining the Charlotte 49ers after appearing in 14 games across two seasons in Tuscaloosa
  • After notching a career-low 17.1 innings, veteran reliever Austin Morris transferred to Coastal Carolina for his final year of eligibility.

Incoming:

  • The first portal commit for the Crimson Tide this off-season came in the form of former Dallas Baptist infielder Cooper Neville. A rising senior, Neville hit .317 in his lone season for the Patriots. The Glendale, Ariz., native also swiped 17 bases and belted 8 home runs.
  • The only other position player to join the Crimson Tide through the transfer portal is former Missouri catcher Mateo Serna. While Serna isn't the best offensive catcher, batting only .239 across three seasons in CoMo, he flashed excellent skill with his glove and is regarded as one of the top defensive catchers in the country. Serna also displayed a great sense of the automatic balls-strikes system (ABS) used during the SEC baseball tournament.
  • One of two pitchers to sign with the Tide is former Ole Miss reliever Noah Allen. The 6-7 sophomore pitched mostly in midweek relief outings, recording a 2.89 ERA across 9.1 innings of work.
  • The only other portal arm to commit and sign with the Crimson Tide is former USF Bull Michael Senay. A freshman All-American, Senay worked himself into a Saturday starter role for South Florida, recording a 3.78 ERA and 81.0 innings — both marks being team highs.
  • The aforementioned portal pitchers Marionneaux and Lambert both committed to the Tide out of the portal, but will pursue the MLB after being selected in the MLB draft.
