Former Tide Safety Finished For Season After Foot Injury
The Chicago Bears have had a dismal 2022 season, totaling a 3-9 record through November. The Monsters of the Midway are in full-on "rebuild mode" as Ryan Poles is in his first season as general manager, therefore the losses are to be expected.
Unfortunately for Bears, the hurdles continue to stack up in the form of injuries. Former Alabama and current Chicago Bears safety Eddie Jackson, who's having a strong season individually, endured a foot injury on Sunday and will have to miss the remainder of the year.
Jackson suffered a Lisfranc injury and specialists are still deciding whether or not the star safety needs surgery. Regardless if he has to go under the knife, Alabama fans won't see Jackson on the field for the remainder of the year.
Jackson was having one of his better seasons in the NFL as he's totaled four interceptions and forced two fumbles while wrapping up 80 tackles through just 12 games in 2022.
It's unfortunate news for Jackson but it may help the Bears in the long run as they're currently slated for the No. 2 overall draft pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. The Houston Texans currently sit in the No. 1 slot with only one victory this season.
