Hours before Avery Johnson and the Crimson Tide Basketball team faced Alabama-Huntsville, it was announced that point guard Collin Sexton will miss the game due to his eligibility. Now the Crimson Tide will be without their starting forward.

Forward Braxton Key will undergo surgery on a torn meniscus on his left knee and his timeline to return has yet to be determined. Key took to Twitter to offer some encouragement on when he could possibly return.

Last season, Key averaged 12 points and 5.7 rebounds and was named SEC All-Freshman team.

Despite losing Key, Sexton, and Riley Norris, the Crimson Tide defeated Alabama-Huntsville 74-65 lead by Daniel Giddens' 17 points and 10 rebounds. Alabama will begin the season this Friday against the Memphis Tigers.
