Gay High School Football Coach Sues, Claims He Was Fired for Sexual Preference
A former football in Lancaster, California is huddling with lawyers after he claims he was fired for being gay.
Burke Wallace alleges he was let go from his position as head coach of the Livermore Valley Charter Prep High School football team last year after word trickled out that he’s gay.
Wallace has filed suit against the school and his lawyer says they are confident they will win:
He was wrongfully terminated because of his sexual orientation, and the (school's) administration is responsible for that. They may try to come up with all these different excuses, but I don't think they'll hold water in court."
Wallace’s legal team contends he did not hide his sexual preference, although some school officials and parents had concerns over him running the team.
Wallace also had to leave his job as an English teacher in the school, due to harassment and stress.
