Nick Saban seemed to be relaxed and in a good mood when he took the podium on Wednesday to meet the media for the final time before his team travels to College Station to take on Texas A&M.

The Aggies have another solid team and the head coach has mentioned multiple times this week that this will be the best team Alabama has played to date.

"I think turnovers, tackling, disciplined execution, focused play in and play out, finish is really important, and you gotta practice that way everyday to be able to play that way when a game comes," Saban said. "We've had a pretty good work week so far."

Alabama will have one more day to prepare before traveling to Texas on Friday. Here's what else Saban discussed in his final press conference of the week:

  • An update on injured players and their status for Saturday.
  • The challenges of facing the Texas A&M defense that brings a lot of pressure.
  • What makes Minkah Fitzpatrick a special player and how the player-coach relationship has developed through his career.
  • What he remembers about playing the late head coach Joe Tiller's Purdue teams.
  • The health of the running backs
  • What he's seen out of Texas A&M true freshman quarterback Kellen Mond.
  • Playing a large number of freshmen this season and how it can help the team.
  • His thoughts on the new NCAA proposal limiting the number of coaches that can be involved in recruiting at a school.

Saturday's game will feature the undefeated Crimson Tide and a one-loss Aggies team. Kickoff is set for 6:15 p.m. on ESPN.
