Highly Ranked Quarterback Schedules A-Day Visit

The Crimson Tide will get a highly ranked quarterback on campus for the first time this weekend, as Alabama is set to host Derek Zammit for a recruiting visit during A-Day weekend.

According to Andrew Bone of On3 Sports, Zammit has scheduled a visit with the Crimson Tide, marking his first visit to the Capstone.

In his interview with Andrew Bone of On3 Sports, he spoke about a recent Zoom call he had with the Crimson Tide's coaches.

Zammit is a native of Wayne, New Jersey, which would explain his reasoning for not visiting Alabama yet. Standing at 6-foot, 185 pounds, Zammit plays for DePaul Catholic High School. Rated as the 390th overall player in the 2026 recruiting class according to 247 Sports composite, Zammit passed for 2,582 yards and 35 touchdowns during his junior season. He also rushed for 560 yards and six touchdowns, according to his junior highlight tape.

The Crimson Tide offered the New Jersey native in February 2025. Even without a visit to Alabama yet, the Crimson Tide made the top four for the four-star prospect in March 2025.

In addition to Alabama, Zammit also included Mississippi State, Washington, and Syracuse in his top four schools. The only school he has visited out of his top four is Syracuse, which he has visited twice already.
