Lucas Oil Stadium

Great advice for attending the game at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis is to dress in layers. The championship game is slated with a kick-off at 7 pm central, so you will need to take on weather temperatures before and after the game. The Lucas Oil Stadium website even said that “Indianapolis will be the first cold-weather city to host this prestigious event.” They are expecting over “100,000 guests” to enjoy their downtown extravaganza.

Lucas Oil Stadium noted that their ticket office opens (local time) at 9:00 am, Gates open at 5:00 pm, and kick-off is at 8:00 pm. Please remember that Indy is in the Eastern Time Zone.

The Lucas Oil Stadium lets us know that it is a “state-of-the-art, 67,000-seat, retractable roof, multi-purpose stadium featuring spectacular views of the Indianapolis skyline.” Click here to follow them on Twitter.

How to Dress in Layers

#1 – Base Layer

The goal is moisture control and warmth.

#2 – Mid Layer

This layer gives you insulation and protection.

#3 – Outer Layer

To keep yourself protected this is the weather protection layer. Also, don’t forget your hat, gloves, scarf, and even ear muffs if necessary.

Dressing in layers allows you to be prepared for outside temperature and then have the ability to relax as layers come off while indoors.

Be safe in your travels in Indy, pack winter clothes, dress in layers, and of course cheer on the Crimson Tide to a victory.
