With each passing week, Kentucky looks to be the class of the SEC once again. The Wildcats have taken sole possession of first place in the conference standings and appear to be in good position to win another SEC title.

Here's a look at how Inside the Locker Room ranks the SEC as of February 22:

  14.  Missouri

This was the week of upsets in the SEC. When Coaches preach taking it one game at a time, sometimes players fail to listen. Bubble teams in the SEC took tough loses this week:

  • Vandy loses a 17-point lead and Mississippi State beats them with 3 at buzzer
  • LSU loses at home vs Alabama and on road at Tennessee
  • Alabama after a huge win at LSU drops home game vs 12-14 Mississippi State placing them back on bubble
  • Florida misses a golden opportunity losing in OT at South Carolina
  • South Carolina does rebound after a tough loss at Missouri to win vs Florida

With two weeks remaining in the season it looks like Kentucky, Texas A&M and South Carolina have punched their tickets to the NCAA tournament.  Florida, Alabama, Vanderbilt and fading LSU find themselves with work to do to secure a bid.

Here is the remaining schedule for teams fighting to get a bid on Selection Sunday:

  1.  Florida (17-10, RPI #32) - Vandy, at LSU, Kentucky, at Missouri
  1.  Alabama (16-10, RPI #50) - at Kentucky, Auburn, Arkansas, at Georgia
  1.  Vanderbilt (16-11, RPI #64) - at Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee, at Texas A&M
  1.  LSU  (16-11, RPI #89) - at Arkansas, Florida, Missouri, at Kentucky

These teams need to take it one game at a time and not look ahead. Another bad loss for any of these teams will put them in position of having to win the SEC Tournament to get in the field of 68.
