Another Game, Another Shutout: Alabama Softball Silences UAB
The Alabama Crimson Tide softball delivered another dominant performance tonight, Tuesday, April 21, with its 20th shutout of the season.
It was a 6-0 win over the UAB Blazers softball, marking Alabama's 43rd Win of the Season
“Alabama (43-4) didn’t allow a UAB (20-27) baserunner to reach safely after the second inning, as Vic Moten (16-3) capped the complete-game shutout on a streak of 16-straight batters retired while striking out 10,” said The University of Alabama Athletics.
In an exciting home run performance for Lauren Johnson, her third home run of the season, and Alexis Pupillo, her 15th of the season, this edged the Crimson Tide’s season total to 79. That showing moves this season’s home run total into a tie for the fifth-most in program history.

Other wins that contributed to the shutout include a season-high two doubles after only hitting one this season before tonight’s game for Ana Roman. With 10 strikeouts, Moten recorded her third double-digit outing of the season. Also, Crimson Tide pitching has not allowed a walk over the last 27 innings.
