University of Alabama head baseball coach Brad Bohannon officially announced the hiring of Jack Hoehl as the Director of Baseball Operations for the Crimson Tide on Monday morning. Hoehl comes to Alabama from the University of Kentucky, where he spent the previous four seasons in the same position.

“I was with Jack at Kentucky, so I had the ability to work up close with him for multiple years,” said Bohannon. “I think he is as good as anybody in college baseball. I really appreciate him trusting me to come be a part of our team. He has a lot of experience working in the Southeastern Conference and will be a huge asset to me and my staff in our first season together.”

In his first year with the Wildcats in 2014, Kentucky reached an NCAA Regional. The 2015 campaign saw UK notch a 30-win season, including 14 wins in SEC play. Kentucky rallied for another 30-win season in 2016 on the way to an SEC Tournament appearance. Hoehl coordinated all operations for the Wildcats’ postseason run in 2017, as Kentucky finished as a Super Regional participant.

Hoehl arrived in Lexington from Auburn University, where he spent four years as the head student manager for the baseball program, before serving as an event management assistant for the 2012-13 school year. As the event management assistant, Hoehl worked Auburn events for football, men’s basketball, baseball, equestrian, track and field, cross country and women’s golf. His final year with the Tigers saw him assist in the planning and execution the 2013 Inaugural SEC Equestrian Championship and the 2013 NCAA Women’s Golf Regional.

While serving as head student manager for the Tigers during his undergraduate years, Hoehl oversaw all responsibilities for team managers, including scheduling, field preparation, training and game day coordination. He also operated the video analysis system, compiled innovative statistical measurements and assisted the recruiting coordinator in game day preparations and prospect visits. He also was charged with creating and producing motivational and promotional videos for the program while spending the offseason supervising the AU summer baseball camps.

The Issaquah, Wash., native has also served as the coordinator of operations for the BB&T Atlanta Open (men’s tennis) and as an operations intern with the Atlanta Tennis Championships.

Hoehl graduated from Auburn in December of 2012 with a degree in supply chain management.
