Former Alabama Crimson Tide guard JD Davison has had a big few weeks. The former 5-star guard was drafted in the second round by the Boston Celtics on June 23. Davison got the official Boston tour as he was welcomed by the franchise ahead of the Summer League season.

To cap off his offseason roller coaster the defending Eastern Conference champions decided to sign Davison to a two-way contract just before he made his Summer League debut.

Davison was chosen for one of the two available two-way contract spots along with restricted free agent, Brodric Thomas. Players on a two-way contract are eligible to play in up to 50 of a team's 82 regular season games and are allowed to travel and practice with the team as an inactive player or they can return to the team's G League affiliate.

The fun didn't stop there for the Letohatchee, Al., native as Davison performed well in his Summer League debut. He put up 10 points, six rebounds, six assists, three blocks and two steals with just one turnover in 29 minutes of action. He left the game with a slight ankle tweak and leg cramps but all reports indicate he is fine to continue playing this summer.

Finally, Davison capped off the weekend by spending some time with the developers of NBA2k. He had his face scanned and was asked to perform several poses so that he can appear in the latest edition of the popular video game franchise.

Davison will continue to try to make his mark in the Summer League as the Boston Celtics take on the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday at 7 p.m. CT in Las Vegas.
