Justin Jefferson has become a reliable linebacker for Alabama's defensive unit this season. In Week 6, Jefferson recorded 14 tackles, one sack, and a force fumble, helping to hold the Commodores to just 14 points during 60 minutes of football and limiting them to 22 rushing yards in the second half.

In his final season of eligibility, Jefferson is making the most of his opportunities. He has totaled 29 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, and one pass deflection this year. Currently, he leads the Crimson Tide in tackles and has been a force on the field.

His hard work and dedication to making plays hasn't gone unnoticed. On Tuesday, Jefferson was named the Bednarik Player of the Week. The award, presented annually by the Maxwell Football Club, recognizes the nation's best college football defensive player, acknowledging exceptional skill, leadership, and impact.

Additionally, Jefferson is playing his best season of football and increasing his draft stock. On Monday, the Senior Bowl's Instagram page recognized him as a defensive player whose stock is rising. Jefferson was the only defensive player in college football to gain the recognition and second player overall, along with wide receiver Eli Heidenreich of the Navy Midshipmen.

According to 247Sports, Jefferson's stock is on the rise, citing his explosiveness, closing speed, instinct for shooting gaps, and agility to avoid blocks as key strengths that could lead him to hearing his named called in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Jefferson is aware of his accomplishments and accolades but selflessly prioritizes his team's goals. "It doesn't really mean too much to me. I'm more worried about the team goals and what we have going as a team, our weekly challenges with every team that we face," said Jefferson during Tuesday's media availability.
