On June 25, members of the PGA tour teamed up with a wide variety of celebrities for the first ever Slime Cup. The event involved multiple teams taking part in a scramble style tournament over seven Nickelodeon inspired holes involving a variety entertaining challenges and costumes for those involved.

The event is another attempt by Nickelodeon to help bring younger audiences to a wide variety of sports similar to the Slimecast they showed over the past two season's NFL playoffs.

The captains for each team involved were Alabama's own and recent PGA Championship winner Justin Thomas as well as PGA golfers Collin Morikawa, John Rahm and LPGA's Lexi Thompson. Each of the pros were forced to play with fun handicaps, such as teeing off with a hockey stick on the Ninja Turtles hole or a spatula on the Spongebob themed hole.

Each hole also featured a challenge before teeing off that would give a team on that hole a full handicap, and these included memorable moments such as John Rahm and Justin Herbert having to wearing a full Spongebob costume and Terry Crews and Collin Morikawa sporting a set of of Paw Patrol Paws.

The course located in Pasadena, California was scattered with a number of slime traps, ranging from sprinkler systems to even being incorporated into the ball-washing station. Each sliming brought a wave of smiles on every competitors face and added more excitement to the hour long TV special.

The finals, which took place at the Rose Bowl, featured the teams captained by Justin Thomas and John Rahm with Thomas continuing his hot-streak in 2022 and taking home the trophy.
