Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer spoke on Monday during Alabama's bye week at the Monday Morning Quarterback Club in Birmingham, Alabama, where he provided injury updates on defensive linemen Tim Keenan III and LT Overton, as well as Alabama running back Jam Miller.

What does Kalen DeBoer expect from Keenan, who reportedly underwent tightrope surgery on an ankle injury he suffered before Alabama's loss to Florida State?

"I think with any injury there's a volume increase that has to happen and a progression," DeBoer said. "And this week, we'll keep building on a few of the things he did last week. And then I don't know what that would be yet, at this point, kind of depends on the progress he makes.

"But, yeah, I don't anticipate that he'll be able to go out and just play a full game, maybe at the number of snaps that he would have completely healthy."

Alabama has relied on true freshman London Simmons, a former three-star recruit from Flowood, Mississippi, in Keenan's absence. Simmons has rewarded Alabama as a surprisingly stable presence in the middle of the Crimson Tide's defense, notching a sack, a tackle for loss, and a quarterback hurry to go along with three tackles in Alabama's 38-14 win over Wisconsin. If Keenan does come off the field against Georgia, Simmons is the expected relief.

Alabama running back Jam Miller suffered a dislocated collarbone in the Tide's second scrimmage and has yet to appear in a game this season for the Crimson Tide. Where do things stand on Miller's status ahead of Georgia?

"He's got some explosiveness," DeBoer said. "He's got great strength, you know. We really count on him. And he had a great fall camp, and so hopefully it doesn't take him long to get back into the swing of things."

Miller led the Tide's running backs in rushing yards last season with 668. In his absence, Alabama has primarily relied on redshirt freshman running back Kevin Riley, who has accumulated 120 rushing yards through three games. Riley is a former four-star running back from Tuscaloosa Academy.

DeBoer also said defensive lineman LT Overton is "expected to play" against Georgia on September 27. Overton left Alabama's 38-14 win over Wisconsin in the second half with an undisclosed injury.
