After the Los Angles Lakers failed to make the playoffs this season, and with no picks in the upcoming NBA Draft, they'll look to make some moves in the offseason. One of the players that the Lakers are reportedly interested in is the former Alabama standout and current Cleveland Cavilers Guard Collin Sexton.

Sexton suffered a torn meniscus injury that required season ending surgery in the beginning of the season. Even though there are some question marks around his injury status Sexton is still one of the top young scorers in the entire league. He averaged over 24 points per game in the 2020-2021 regular season.

The Lakers don’t have a lot of cap space and Sexton is a restricted free agent so it’s going to be expensive to sign a player like Sexton.

There are only rumors surrounding interest from the Lakers on Sexton as of right now according to recent reports.

“Anyway, there are so many things to consider here,” Sam Amico of Hoops Wire reported. “Darius Garland and Sexton share an agent. Garland became the face of the Cavs. The Cavs traded for Caris LeVert, who plays Sexton’s position. And Sexton is drawing plenty of interest — with a few league sources telling me even Lebron James’ Lakers are interested.”

Lakers will not be able to make any big off season moves without some how getting rid of Russell Westbrook’s contract via a trade.

Westbrook will be getting paid $47 million next season by the Lakers and he will be a hard player to trade away due to his underwhelming year this past season.
