The Mercedes plant in Vance, Alabama was scheduled to get back to work this coming week, those plans are now altered. Mercedes Benz US International extended their shut-down for another week, putting the Alabama employees out of work for an additional week.

As of now the plan for the manufacturing plant is to resume production on April 13. The car company closed its plant due to a shortage of parts coming in from over seas because of COVID-19. The plant closed initially on March 23.

COVID-19 has not only affected people's health due to the deadly nature of the virus, but it has caused a major economic impact on workers worldwide.
