Week one of the NFL season has now passed us by. We got a good look at what the teams will look like going forward and who the major players for them will be. Granted week one is more of an indicator rathe than a true example of teams overall performances.  So let's break it down.

Cowboys - 20 at Eagles - 24:

Jalen Hurts (Eagles) - A great performance from Hurts in the opener against a divisional rival. Quite the dramatics in this one to start the game, but that did not distract this offense at all. Hurts had quite the day on the ground running for 62 yards and two touchdowns. It was also a good day for Barkley, as the run game was the main focus for their offense in this game. Hurts also totaled 152 passing yards, no turnovers, and no touchdowns through the air.

DeVonta Smith (Eagles) - A modest day with only three catches for 16 yards. It was a run heavy day for this offense, but do expect more from this shifty receiver going forward.

Panthers - 10 at Jaguars - 26:

Bryce Young (Panthers) - A tough first start for the season. The panthers struggled to do much on offense against a pretty stout Jaguars defense. Young was visibly frustrated as there were not many opportunities downfield in this one. Young went 18/35 for 154, one touchdown, with two int's, and a fumble. Turnovers hurt them the most here. Clearly. He should be able to bounce back as he did throughout the season last year. The Panthers are a young team so struggles are to be expected.

Lions - 13 at Packers - 27:

Jahmyr Gibbs (Lions) - A tougher defense from the Pack than expected led to Gibbs having a modest game. He had nine carries for 19 yards on the ground while catching 10 passes for 31 yards. The Packers took away the run game and limited Gibbs to almost nothing on the ground. The Lions got behind early too so they went to the air for most of the game.

Jameson Williams (Lions) - Again a tough game for Williams too. Catching 4/5 for 23 yards. There wasn't much this offense was able to do. With the addition of Parsons for the Packers this defense was getting to Goff almost every passing down. Frustrating for sure, but expect the Lions to get back in the swing of their high powered offense in the games to come.

Josh Jacobs (Packers) - Rushing for 66 yards on 19 carries and adding a touchdown on the ground it was a decent showing for Jacobs out of the backfield. The Packers led for most of the game and Jacobs' use reflected that. Jacobs is poised to have another great season in Green Bay.

Player of the Week:

Derrick (King) Henry (Ravens) - No slowing down for King Henry. For a 30+ year old back he is climbing up the record books for backs in the NFL. Another game with over 100+ on the ground, also adding two touchdowns with it. It was a great game from him despite the late fumble that propelled the Bills to a win. Clearly still the best running back in the league., and in this offense, expect him to continue on that path this season.

Week two kicks off Thursday night when the Commanders take on the Packers in Lambeau at 7:15 p.m. central. Check Back Thursday for the week two outlook.
