After an absolutely crazy second half, the Oregon Ducks will play on January 12 in Dallas, TX for the national championship, after defeating the Florida State Seminoles, 59-20.

Both teams came out much more conservative than many people thought, with field goal attempts and clock management dominating most of the first half. Half time yielded a score of Oregon 18, Florida State 13.

The game started off as a sort of heavyweight fight, the Ducks and Seminoles trying to feel out each other. Neither team could produce any explosive plays, a game plan both teams try to use as their identities, and left most who were watching wanting more.

Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota couldn't seem to get in a groove, passing for just 157 yards in he first half, while throwing only his third interception of the year to end the second quarter.

Previous Heisman winner Jameis Winston didn't fare much better before the halftime break. Winston went for just 136 yards on 13/21 passing.

However, the points started rolling in after the Seminole band finished playing "Survivor" by Destiny's Child for their halftime entertainment. That song selection symbolized the rest of this game.

That's called "foreshadowing" in the literary world.

Florida State began the half receiving the ball, but after five plays, they had to punt back to the Ducks, and the Mean Green Machine took full advantage, driving the ball down the field 69 yards ending with a rushing touchdown from stud freshman Royce Freeman.

However, Florida State answered the bell and also put together a touchdown drive immediately following the Duck seven points. Winston capped off their 75 yard drive with a 18 yard touchdown pass to Travis Rudolph, clawing the Seminoles to a 25-20 deficit.

But you don't want to get into a scoring match with Oregon. That usually ends badly.

The Ducks wasted no time after giving up that score, marching down the field in just under a minute and a half, finished off by a 53 yard strike from Mariota to freshman receiver Darrin Washington.

Turnovers usually tell the story of every game, and this year's Rose Bowl is no different. After the Ducks' fourth touchdown, the Seminoles coughed up a fumble at midfield, and Oregon did what Oregon does...

Of course, they scored a quick touchdown, in just two plays.

Florida State wouldn't back down, but an absolutely insane play on fourth down for the Seminoles put the Ducks up by 25, and essentially ended the game.

After burning their second timeout of the second half, Florida State decided to go for it on fourth down late in the third quarter. What ensued cannot be explained in words, so here's a video of one of the craziest plays of the season.

After the madness ended and the clock struck all zeroes, the Ducks came out victorious by a score of 59-20.
