PASADENA, Calif. - Alabama's season rounds out as an 11-win football team that was good enough to win against inferior competition, but could not beat the fundamentally superior teams. The Indiana Hoosiers toppled the Crimson Tide in the Rose Bowl, 38-3, to advance to the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Peach Bowl in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Tide had less than 200 yards of total offense, with 193 total, and Austin Mack led the Tide with 103 passing yards in the loss. Mack stepped in for an injured Ty Simpson afterSimpson suffered a cracked rib during the second quarter.

The Tide's defense affected Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza early, with three sacks and four tackles for loss in the first half. In the second half, Alabama had just one tackle for loss against the Hoosiers.

The Tide still had a successful season in year two under Kalen DeBoer. Check out the Rose Bowl in a photo gallery.
