PHOTOS: Alabama Prepares for Its First NCAA Tournament Game in Six Years
Alabama men’s basketball spent its first full day in Pittsburgh putting the finishing touches on its game plan for Thursday’s matchup with Virginia Tech in the 2018 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.
The Crimson Tide began the day with a study hall session and film before departing for practice at Duquesne’s A.J. Palumbo Center. The team then headed to PPG Paints Arena where it met with the media for approximately 30 minutes and took part in an open practice for media and fans.
The ninth-seeded Tide (19-15) and No.8-seed Hokies (21-11) will tip at approximately 8:20 p.m. CT on TNT. Alabama is making its 20th appearance in the NCAA tournament and first since 2012. The Tide is 18-19 all-time in tournament games, advancing to the Sweet 16 seven times and the Elite Eight on one occasion in 2004.
