Kadyn Proctor Praises Ty Simpson’s Leadership
The quarterback of any team is typically the leader of the squad, and that's again the case for Alabama under first-year starter Ty Simpson. Simpson, a redshirt junior, learned from Bryce Young and Jalen Milroe while sitting behind the Heisman Trophy winner and the SEC champion for three seasons.

His leadership and accountability have helped propel Alabama to its current 5-1 record and No. 6 ranking in the country, the highest for the Crimson Tide so far this season. On Tuesday, Alabama left tackle Kadyn Proctor praised Simpson's leadership, while also saying the Crimson Tide's quarterback knows when to get the team fired up.
"It brings us with him, as he wants to improve on his pass game; he brings us along," Proctor said. "He's just a great leader, speaks all the time. ripped our a** in the team meeting yesterday. He knows how to get us riled up, and he's a great leader."
Proctor shared why Ty Simpson's message was in the meeting where he ripped them.
"That we need to be better. We still haven't played a full game as an offensive line, as a quarterback, as any position. We haven't played a shutout game, which is hard to do, but that's what's expected of us."
Despite not playing a full game, Alabama's offense ranks No. 39 in total offense and No. 36 in scoring offense. The Crimson Tide defeated Georgia and Missouri thanks to standout second-half play defensively. If the Crimson Tide can improve offensively, then it will be almost impossible to stop the Tide.
No. 6 Alabama will return home next weekend to take on the No. 11 Tennessee Volunteers, who defeated Arkansas 34-31 on Saturday.
