During his time at Alabama, Ragland was named Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-American in 2015. He helped lead the team to two national championships in 2013 and 2015.

In the NFL, Reggie Ragland was selected in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills.  He won his first Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2020. Ragland concluded his career in 2022 with a total of 293 tackles and 16 tackles for loss.

Former Alabama strength and conditioning coach Scott Cochran was announced as the head coach of the UWA Tigers football team back in February, and since then, he has been hiring former Alabama legends, including Reggie Ragland, Blake Sims, O.J Howard, Damion Square, Bo Scarbrough, Thomas Fletcher, and Ronnie Clark.

"Reggie’s experience, passion for the game, and ability to connect with young athletes will be instrumental in recruiting top talent to our program." Cochran said in a news release.

Fans will be able to get a first look at the dynamic coaching staff on Aug. 30, when UWA takes on Fort Valley State at Birmingham's Legion Field.
