Report: Mike Locksley Promoted to Alabama Co-Offensive Coordinator
Mike Locksley's new role on the Alabama coaching staff became a little clearer on Friday.
According to Bruce Feldman of FOX Sports, the former offensive analyst for the Crimson Tide will be elevated to co-offensive coordinator to assist Steve Sarkisian this upcoming season.
Locksley joined Nick Saban's staff in 2016 after four years at Marlyand as the offensive coordinator, quarterbacks coach, and eventually interim head coach after Randy Edsall was fired. Prior to his time with the Terrapins, Locksley was the head coach at New Mexico.
Alabama is transitioning to new offensive coaches after Lane Kiffin left to become the head coach at Florida Atlantic. During Kiffin's three years in Tuscaloosa, the Crimson Tide averaged more than 450 yards of total offense per game.
