Richie Bonomolo Jr Named on All-SEC Tournament Team
Alabama Baseball played only two games in the single-elimination SEC baseball tournament last week. In game one, the Tide defeated Missouri 2-1, but they lost to Tennessee in game two, with the final score 15-10.

Despite the Tide only playing two games, their center fielder, Richie Bonomolo Jr, showed out and earned the honor of being named to the All-SEC team on Sunday. The full team is listed below.

Bonomolo Jr. had an impressive performance throughout Alabama’s two games in the SEC tournament last week. As Alabama’s center fielder, Bonomolo Jr. went 4-7 at the plate, driving in three RBIs. Notably, all three RBIs came in the Tide’s 15-10 loss against Tennessee. In that game, Bonomolo Jr. finished with three hits, including two doubles.
The Tide’s center fielder and the entire Alabama baseball team have been relentless all year, with Bonomolo Jr. coming away with an RBI single in the ninth inning of the tide's game two loss to Tennessee, which saw the Tide score four runs in the final inning of the game to cut a nine-run deficit into only a five-run game.
Following the Crimson Tide’s loss to Tennessee in game two of the SEC tournament, Bonomolo Jr. was asked about the relentless fight in this team, to which he told the media, “I think we’ve been incorporating something like it’s always about the finish. Even though we lost today, I think the fight kind of showed how much our team puts into this baseball team."
Alabama will be leaning on its center fielder throughout the Tide’s postseason run, where they will start the postseason as a two seed in the Hattiesburg regional, where the Tide will open the regional facing off against the number three seed Miami, likely on May 30.
