Midway through Alabama and Miami's second quarter of action in Saturday's game, Crimson Tide outside linebacker Chris Allen exited the field on a medical cart after spending time in the medical tent.

Allen was having a disruptive game he had already accounted for two tackles, one sack and one forced fumble. His forced fumble resulted in a Will Reichard 51-yard field goal.

The senior outside linebacker spent time in the medical tent before being spotted riding the cart to the locker room. His right foot was in a boot while riding the cart. Head coach Nick Saban told the media after the game that Allen sustained a pretty significant foot injury and he could potentially be lost for the season.

"They'll further evaluate, but it looks like he may be lost for the season," said Saban.

Sophomore Drew Sanders was the first Alabama player off the bench to replace Allen. The senior linebacker may potentially leave this strip sack on Miami quarterback D'Eriq King as the final highlight of his Alabama career.

Allen has been one of the Tide's most consistent contributors throughout his time at the Capstone. He entered the game with 54 career tackles with 18.5 for a loss and 6.5 sacks. He led the SEC in 2020 in tackles for loss with 13. He missed all of 2018 after sustaining a knee injury.

Alabama will use Sanders, sophomore Chris Braswell, junior King Mwikuta and freshman Dallas Turner to replace his production.
