Super Bowl MVP Skips White House Visit
One big honor with winning a championship is the annual visit to the White House to be honored by the sitting president. In addition to hoisting the ever-elusive Lombardi Trophy, the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles will attend a meeting with the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump, to be honored. Recently, the College Football Playoff National Champion Ohio State Buckeyes met the president and Vice President JD Vance, who graduated from Ohio State in 2009.

However, the MVP of Super Bowl LIX, former Alabama and Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts, will not be in attendance with the Eagles at the White House due to "scheduling conflicts," according to White House correspondent Yamiche Alcindor.
Hurts led the Eagles to a 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, passing for 221 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 72 yards and one touchdown in his second Super Bowl appearance.
During the 2024-25 NFL season, Hurts completed 68.7 percent of his passes for 18 touchdowns and five interceptions while also rushing for 630 yards and 14 touchdowns as the Eagles secured the No. 2 seed in the NFC for the playoffs.
In four playoff games against the Packers, Rams, Commanders, and Chiefs, Hurts completed 71.4 percent of his passes for 726 yards and five touchdowns while rushing for 194 yards and five touchdowns in the postseason.
Part of Hurts's decision not to be at the White House could be due to having already met President Trump. Hurts was the starting quarterback in Alabama's 26-23 comeback victory over the Georgia Bulldogs in the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship, but was benched at halftime for freshman quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
Hurts can be seen in the above image in the bottom left corner as attending the Tide's visit to the White House to meet President Trump during his first tenure.
