In the second to last week in West Alabama High School football, the Tuscaloosa Academy Knights fell to the Monroe Academy Volunteers by a score of 40-33.

The Montevallo Bulldogs (4-4, 4-2) took on the Holt Ironmen (2-6, 2-4) in a 4A matchup that saw both teams play very competitively.

In a special Thursday edition of "Friday Night Lights," the Paul W.Bryant High School Stampede defeated the Brookwood Panthers by a score of 33-23.

Four weeks ago Alabama high school athletic programs weren't sure what high school sports would look like. High school athletes, coaches and parents weren't sure if there would even be a season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the uncertainty that the pandemic presents, entering week 5 of the football season the AHSAA (Alabama High School Athletic Association) is off to a good start.

The summer time is usually a crucial time of preparation for football teams everywhere. Weightlifting, conditioning and summer competitions are a staple across high school football across the country. Today the Alabama High School Athletic Association released a memo stating that summer competitions would be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
