While the landscapes of bowl season are ever-changing, as seen with the withdrawal of Tennessee from the Liberty Bowl yesterday, these matchups are all subject to change. Still, some of the bowl matchups featuring SEC teams are among the most intriguing of the postseason.
On Thursday, it was announced that the formerly named “Belk Bowl” will be rebranding as the “Duke’s Mayonnaise Bowl.” The bowl game, which is played in Charlotte, North Carolina has historically featured conference tie-ins for both the ACC and the SEC but now will feature the Big Ten conference, which will swap out with the SEC every other year.
Alabama defeated Michigan 35-16 in the VRBO Citrus Bowl today at Camping World Stadium in Orlando Florida. The Crimson Tide entered the locker room at halftime trailing 16-14 and proceeded to score 21 second half points while shutting out Michigan’s offense to win the bowl game. Alabama improved its record to 11-2 on the season, making nine straight 11-win seasons for the University of Alabama.
