Alabama fans received some excellent news regarding Sugar Bowl opt outs on Friday.

SEC coaches selected these Crimson Tide players for high honors.

Will Anderson may not have repeated last season's dominance, but he still put on enough of a show to continue filling his trophy case.

The four finalists have been invited to attend the annual awards show on Dec. 11 in Newport Beach, California with the winner being announced at the event.

Both star players left the door open to the Iron Bowl being their last game in Crimson and White.

As the second half of the season gets ready to kickoff for Alabama, the Crimson Tide defense received a sense of recognition for their efforts this season. On Tuesday, November 1st, Alabama Outside Linebacker Will Anderson Jr. and Defensive Back Kool-Aid McKinstry were named semifinalist for the Bednarik award.

The Alabama Crimson Tide pass rush bounced back against Mississippi State after a rough outing against Tennessee. The team accounted for four total sacks as well as five quarterback hurries to give Will Rogers a tough outing in Tuscaloosa.

Alabama is also starting another streak for Mississippi State as the team that seems to have become the Tide's bounce-back opponent.

The Alabama Crimson Tide traveled to Knoxville to face off against the Tennessee Volunteers after narrowing escaping Texas A&M. In the matchup against the Aggies, the Tide pass rush came up big with three sacks and 14 QB hurries against Haynes King. This weekend the group did not come up as big, only recording one sack and no hurries on the day.

The Terminator had highs and lows in Austin on Saturday, including a handful of penalties and his first sack of the year.
