Detroit Lions Release Former Alabama Defensive Back Terrion Arnold

Former Alabama cornerback Terrion Arnold has been released by the Detroit Lions, according to Ari Meirov on X. The Lions had drafted Arnold in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft after he spent three seasons at Alabama.

The release comes on Monday afternoon after Arnold was granted bond during his pre-trial detention hearing on Monday, stemming from an incident in February, where Arnold allegedly orchestrated a kidnapping and armed robbery, for which he is being charged with three counts of kidnapping, three counts of armed robbery, one count of conspiracy to kidnap, and one count of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, which carry a maximum sentence of life in prison if he's convicted.

Arnold was granted bond on Monday morning during his pre-trial detention hearing, with the condition that he can't contact any of the co-defendants, must surrender his passport, and must remain either at home or work. The judge rejected the State of Florida's motion to have Arnold wear an ankle monitor.

A trial date for Arnold has not been set yet.
