The NFL fined former Alabama stars Julio Jones of the Tennessee Titans and Ronnie Harrison of the Cleveland Browns in regard to penalties in week 1.

During the Chiefs first win of the season on Sunday, Harrison was ejected from the game after he shoved Kansas City’s RB Coach, Greg Lewis. The dispute started by Lewis making an effort to shove Harrison out of the way so that he would not step on Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire who was on the ground. Harrison responded to Lewis by shoving him back, which landed him an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and disqualification for any further play.

However, Lewis did not get off completely scot-free. The NFL did not deem his actions worthy of a fine according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, but they did give him a warning that any “subsequent violation will result in discipline.” This slap on the wrist did not sit well with Brown’s players. According to USA Today, Brown offensive linemen, J.C. Tretter expressed his feelings on a zoom call by stating “I expect that the coach gets held to the same standard, if not a higher standard than Ronnie,”

Jones on the other hand was flagged for unnecessary roughness after he shoved Arizona cornerback Byron Murphy. This incident occurred from his personal foul after-the-whistle in the Titans 38-13 loss Against the Arizona Cardinals.

According to Pelissero, Harrison was fined $12,128 and Jones was fined $10,815. Jones and Harrison are among the six players who were fined by the NFL since Saturday.
