The royal family of Tuscaloosa made a donation to help the Division II Alabama hockey club team get to the Collegiate Hockey Federation's national tournament.

The team set up a GoFundMe after receiving a bid to the big skate for an impressive performance in the Collegiate Hockey South's playoffs, where the team finished in third place after going 2-1.

"I just wanted to say thank you to our wonderful donors, including Nick and Terry Saban, as well as the Nick's Kids Foundation," said defenseman Matt Brown.

Both the Sabans and Nick's Kids donated $250 each, giving $500 of the $6,150 it has received thus far. The team's goal is $30,000.
