Redshirt senior tight end Giles Amos has entered his name into the transfer portal, as first reported by AL.com's Matt Zenitz.

Amos walked on to the Alabama Crimson Tide football team in 2016 out of Perry, Georgia.

He had an eventful 2019 season which saw him earn a scholarship in August on the last day of Fall camp. "Trailer Park Jesus," as the coaches and team had dubbed him, saw action in 10 games last season. Though most of that action was seen on special teams and as an in-line blocker, Amos did record his one and only catch against New Mexico State for five yards.

Amos would be in a crowded tight end room in 2020 should he eventually decide to return to Tuscaloosa. The Tide returns starter Miller Forristall and contributor Major Tennison at the position. Alabama has also brought in a graduate transfer from North Carolina, Carl Tucker, who is expected to have a role in the 2020 season.

Amos joins defensive back Scooby Carter in the transfer portal. Alabama has already seen two players depart this offseason to transfers: running back Jerome Ford to Cincinnatti and offensive lineman Scott Lashley to Mississippi State.
