TV Network Announced for Alabama vs. Texas
Alabama's Week 2 matchup with the Texas Longhorns is set to air on FOX, the network announced this week.
While it has not been confirmed by the network, the announcement likely means an appearance on FOX's "Big Noon Kickoff" which all but confirms an early kickoff for one of the season's most anticipated matchups.
Many fans took to the replies in order to share their disapproval of the potentially early slotted matchup. Most users complained about the extreme heat Texas is known for at not only that time of year, but that time of day, while others expressed outrage with the notion that such a monumental matchup could be relegated to the morning.
In the storied histories of both programs, the pair have only played each other a total of nine times and Texas holds a big advantage over the Tide, leading the series 7-1-1. The most recent matchup is likely remembered fondly by Tide fans; however, as it was the beginning of Nick Saban's dynasty in 2009 when Alabama won 37-21 in the national title game.
The Longhorns picked up two Alabama transfers this offseason in Jahleel Billingsley and Agiye Hall who will likely look to show out against their former team. Though neither were able to find success in a crimson uniform, the skillsets of both players is undeniable and the Tide will have it's hands full in defending them.
