ESPN Analyst Says Tennessee/Alabama Rivalry Isn't The Same

It has been over 4,000 days since the Tennessee Volunteers lined up on the gridiron and defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide. With the 100th meeting between the two programs approach, many wonder where this rivalry still holds up.

Coach Nick Saban is 10-0 against the Volunteers and the coach on the other side Butch Jones had yet to defeat the Crimson Tide, 0-4 in his attempts. Coach Saban has defeated 72 straight non-conference opponents and Jones is coming into Tuscaloosa 3-3 for the season. It doesn't look good to be a Volunteer.

The rivalry that has seen blocked field goals and a future NFL Hall-of-Fame quarterback has become just another game on the Crimson Tide schedule on their road to 17 and a game Butch Jones needs to remain a head coach in Knoxville.

ESPN College Gameday analyst Brad Edwards joined The Game with Ryan Fowler and said that the rivalry between the Crimson Tide and the Volunteers is like 'a hammer and a nail' and the series has been so one-sided the rivalry has lost it's edge throughout the years.

Edwards also breakdown the upsets surrounding college football in week 7, could Damien Harris performances start getting national attention, and how Nick Saban is able to maintain his streak against non-conference opponents.
