What’s the Latest on Jett Washington’s Recruitment?
Alabama is high on one of the top safeties in the country, with five-star safety Jett Washington setting official visits during the visiting period in the spring.

Washington, a 6-foot-4, 200-pound safety from Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, is ranked as the No. 4 overall safety and the No. 29 player in the 2026 recruiting class. He's a five-star athlete who totaled 38 tackles, five interceptions, two pass breakups, and one forced fumble. He was also named the Nevada Player of the Year and was an All-American as a junior.
Washington is the nephew of NBA Hall of Famer and the late Kobe Bryant.
Washington's Visit Schedule
Washington has taken unofficial visits to three of the top programs in the country, with two visits to Ohio State, Oregon, and Alabama. Washington has three official visits scheduled, according to On3 Sports. He will be at Alabama on May 30, Ohio State on June 6, and Oregon on June 13. He was in Tuscaloosa for the Tide's A-Day open practice.

The Latest on Washington's Recruitment
On3 Sports recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong joined On3's Josh Newberg to give the latest on Washington's recruitment.
"Alabama's definitely near the top of the list," Wiltfong said, "I would probably give the edge to Oregon going into the official visits."
While that certainly isn't something Tide fans want to hear, Wiltfong assured the Alabama faithful that the Tide are rolling out the red carpet for the Las Vegas native.
"Alabama is swinging for the fences for Jett Washington. One of their most coveted players on the board, regardless of position. They get him back on campus, his family is familiar with Alabama, and they have a lot of love for Coach Mo Linguist, Coach Kalen Deboer, and this coaching staff. They're excited to get back, and we'll see where Alabama stands coming out of it."
If the Tide can land one of the highest-ranked prospects in the 2026 recruiting class, Washington would join Derek Meadows as a Bishop Gorman alumnus at Alabama and join a defensive back room that is expected to be among the best in college football for multiple seasons.
Alabama's defensive back room is loaded with young talent, including sophomores Zabien Brown and Zay Mincey, as well as star freshmen Dijon Lee, Chuck McDonald, and Ivan Taylor. The Tide has a veteran group in 2025, headlined by returning seniors Domani Jackson and Keon Sabb, as well as rising junior Bray Hubbard.
