Where Does Alabama Stand in D1Baseball’s Latest Field of 64 Projections?
Alabama's regular season is nearing its end, with the Tide facing its last three series of the season. As the SEC tournament approaches, the Tide is aiming to secure a spot to host a super regional. Barring a collapse, the Crimson Tide has, in all likelihood, clinched a spot in the field of 64.

On Wednesday, D1Baseball released its field of 64, featuring Alabama as the No. 2 seed in the Clemson regional, which the No. 3 Tigers will host. The seeding for the Clemson regional is listed below.
- Clemson
- Alabama
- Xavier
- Wright State
The winner of the Clemson regional will match up against the winner of the Athens regional in Georgia, with the Bulldogs hosting a regional for the first time since 2018. These are the following teams in the Athens regional.
- Georgia
- Georgia Tech
- Stetson
- Yale
Alabama will join 12 other teams from the SEC in the field of 64. Seven of these teams from the conference will have the honor of hosting a regional tournament. Below are the projected teams from the SEC in D1Baseball’s recent field of 64 and their respective regional locations.
- Texas: Austin, TX
- Texas A&M: Los Angeles, CA
- LSU: Baton Rouge, LA
- Florida: Tallahassee, FL
- Auburn: Auburn, AL
- Arkansas: Fayetteville, AR
- Ole Miss: Raleigh, NC
- Oklahoma: Chapel Hill, NC
- Kentucky: Morgantown, WV
- Tennessee: Knoxville, TN
- Georgia: Athens, GA
- Vanderbilt: Nashville, TN
- Alabama: Clemson, SC
Rob Vaughn's squad is set to travel to Nashville, Tennessee, for a weekend series against No. 15 Vanderbilt, which is currently projected to host its regional tournament. A series win would present a significant opportunity for the Tide to host a regional at Sewell-Thomas Stadium for the first time since the 2023 season, when Jason Jackson served as interim head coach following the firing of the previous head coach, Brad Bohannon.
There will be more opportunities for the Tide to secure a spot in the regional playoffs. Their next two opponents are No. 15 Vanderbilt this weekend and No. 10 Georgia next weekend, both of which are currently projected to host a regional. Alabama will conclude the regular season with a road series against Florida, another talented team, which is a third seed in the Tallahassee regional. This is the same regional that the Tide competed in last season, resulting in a disappointing 0-2 start that led to their elimination from the postseason.
