Tragedy struck a local family just prior to the Alabama football game this past Saturday, when a 3-year-old girl was struck and killed by a car.

According to Tuscaloosa Police Spokeswoman Lt. Teena Richardson. the girl was on the steps of a home in the 1400 block of Seventh Street at approximately 12:25pm, while her parent was parking cars. The girl then got scared by a dog that ran into the path of a car that was parking at that moment.  Richardson also added that, "The driver of the vehicle did not see the child, but felt the impact”.
