Alabama junior guard Aden Holloway (written as Ayden Holloway in court documents) now has a date for his preliminary hearing after he was arrested earlier this week in Tuscaloosa. Holloway's preliminary hearing in Tuscaloosa County jail has been scheduled for April 14 by Judge Joanne Jannik, according to a report by Mike Rodak of Bama 247.

Holloway was arrested on Monday, March 16, and charged with first-degree possession of marijuana not for personal use, a Class C felony in the state of Alabama, and failure to affix a tax stamp. In reports following the arrest, it was revealed that over two pounds of marijuana were found at Holloway's residence, with the 964 grams weighing approximately 2.1 pounds, according to court documents filed later in the week.

Tide 100.9 and the Tuscaloosa Thread spoke with Holloway's attorney on Tuesday, where he said that the marijuana was for "personal use," after Holloway told authorities that he "only smokes." Court documents accessed on Friday morning revealed that marijuana was found in numerous places around Holloway's residence, totaling 2.1 pounds after he told agents that he estimated he had "probably a quarter pound." Holloway then allowed authorities to search his phone, where they found alleged evidence of drug dealings, resulting in agents seizing $400 in cash out of a jacket pocket.

Holloway was Alabama's second-leading scorer, averaging 16.8 points per game on 48.1% shooting from the floor and 43.8% shooting from three-point range on 28.4 minutes per game. Alabama defeated the Hofstra Pride in the first round of the NCAA tournament, 90-70, in its first game since Holloway's arrest.
