Since the start of the 2023 XFL season, former Alabama quarterback, AJ McCarron has constantly thanked the league and its fans for giving him the chance to make memorable moments for this family.

McCarron regularly compares his time with the St. Louis BattleHawks to his experiences in Tuscaloosa, even stating "it's just fun to come out here and play. I miss playing, not always just being a backup," referring to his time in the NFL.

The BattleHawks played in their first home game of the season on Sunday, with McCarron putting on another stellar performance to lead his team to a victory over the Arlington Renegades. He threw for 2 touchdowns and 214 yards. McCarron played in front of a record-setting crowd of over 38,000 attendees, the most in XFL history.

Following the game, McCarron spoke in an interview about what the home crowd meant to him, stating "this place reminds me a lot of Alabama".
