Alabama Baseball Pitcher Drafted to the Diamondbacks
Alabama baseball pitcher Dylan Ray has been drafted to the Arizona Diamondbacks as the No. 108 overall pick in the fourth round of the 2022 MLB Draft.
Last season, Ray pitched 31.1 innings, giving up 23 hits, 17 runs (16 earned), 15 walks, seven home runs, struck out 49 batters, and recorded eight saves with a 4.60 earned run average in his 18 appearances.
The redshirt freshman was a big help to the Tide's "Hoover Magic," snagging two saves in the SEC tournament, the 5-3 victory against Georgia and the 4-3 victory against Arkansas.
The Ala., native made the 2022 SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll, Freshman All-SEC Team, and Freshman All-American Team from Collegiate Baseball News.
Ray was the second Alabama baseball player to be drafted this year, joining pitcher Connor Prielipp, who was drafted as the No. 48 pick overall (second round) to the Minnesota Twins on Sunday evening.
