Alabama defensive back Anthony Averett entered the 2016 season with very little experience but multiple departures in the secondary meant a bigger role in his junior season.

The cornerback emerged as the starter out of fall camp and has performed well for the SEC's top-ranked defense. Averett, a New Jersey native, leads the Crimson Tide with seven passes broken up and is 10th on the team in tackles.

As Alabama shifts its focus towards Saturday's game with Chattanooga, Averett met with reporters to talk about his season, what makes this defense so tough, and staying focused each week. You can watch the full video above.
