Alabama DL Raekwon Davis Talks Improvement, Focus This Spring
The Alabama defensive line has received some positive reports through spring camp so far and one player that the Tide expects to be a key piece of that front is Raekwon Davis.
The junior enjoyed a breakout year in 2017 that earned him first team All-SEC accolades from the coaches. His 8.5 sacks led the team while his 10 tackles for a loss ranked second, but Davis said that's in the past. His focus this spring is making improvements on his game for 2018.
"I feel like I can get better," Davis told reporters on Tuesday. "I'm trying to get better. I'm trying to work on my technique, get my technique better."
The defensive line replaces starters Da'Ron Payne and Da'Shawn Hand from last year's team, but there are a number of talented players that will get an opportunity under new coach Craig Kuligowski.
"We're tying to get better as a group, as a defensive line," Davis. "We're trying to get consistent. Trying to be more aggressive on the field. And also trying to be a leader to the younger guys."
Fans will get a chance to see the new-look defense this weekend at the annual A-Day game.
