Mosley won two national titles as a player for former Alabama head coach Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide. Mosley was a member of the Tide's 2015 national championship roster and Alabama's 2017 national championship team. During his time in college, he earned a scholarship as a former walk-on player, appearing in 31 games, totaling 21 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, two pass breakups, and two sacks for the Crimson Tide. During the 2017 season, he started three games for Alabama. Mosley was then signed by the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent, but did not appear in a game for the Jets.

Mosley then became an assistant coach for the Crimson Tide, helping defensive line coach Freddie Roach with Alabama's defensive trench. He's helped coach recent Crimson Tide defensive linemen, such as Tim Keenan III (who is currently in the NFL draft process), LT Overton (who is currently in the NFL draft), Justin Eboigbe (Los Angeles Chargers), among others.

Mosley is the third Alabama coach to officially take a new job this offseason. Wide receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard became the head coach at Oregon State, and quarterbacks coach Nick Sheridan became the offensive coordinator at Michigan State.
