
Alabama Picked First in Preseason SEC Poll
For just the second time in program history, Alabama Men's Basketball was picked to finish first in the SEC in the Preseason Media Poll. The only other season was 1990-1991.

The poll is selected by a select group of SEC and national media members.
Alabama was announced as the No. 4 team in the national according to Kenpom's preseason rankings, and the No. 2 team in the country according to the AP Preseason Top 25 poll.
Alabama's No. 2 ranking in the preseason AP poll is the highest ever in program history for the preseason. The previous record was set by Alabama's 1990-1991 team, who entered the season as the No. 7 team in the country.
According to Alabama, since Nate Oats was hired as the head coach in 2019, Alabama has won a conference-best 62 SEC games, tied with basketball blue blood Kentucky as the best in the conference.
