Alabama Earns Commitment From Class of 2026's No.1 CB

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Kalen Deboer and the Crimson Tide have landed their first five-star in the 2026 class, with five-star cornerback Jorden Edmonds declaring to Hayes Fawcett that he will commit to Alabama.

Edmonds, whose commitment date was scheduled for February 19th before rescheduling, chose Alabama over Georgia, Florida, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.

Edmonds is the fourth commitment in Alabama's 2026 class, which was ranked 15th in the nation and 8th in the SEC before his commitment, according to On3. The five-star cornerback is the second defensive back to join the Crimson Tide's 2026 class, following four-star Zyan Gibson from Gadsden, Alabama, who committed on Christmas Eve 2024.

This is a significant addition to Alabama's recruiting class, as Edmonds is currently ranked as the No. 1 cornerback and the No. 10 overall prospect in the 2026 class, according to 247 Sports. The 6-foot-2, 175-pound cornerback recorded 30 tackles during his junior season at Sprayberry High School in Marietta, Georgia. In addition to his defensive skills, Edmonds also played wide receiver, catching 32 passes for 658 yards and scoring four touchdowns, as reported by 247 Sports.

The five-star cornerback is a three-sport athlete competing in football, basketball, and track at Sprayberry High School.

Edmonds, described by 247 Sports' National Analyst Hudson Standish as "one of the most athletic defensive backs in the 2026 class," is highlighted in the five-star cornerbacks 247 Sports' scouting report. He recently completed an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa on Saturday, March 22nd. Following his visit, Alabama received several expert predictions to secure his commitment, including one from On3's Steve Wiltfong.

Alabama's newest commit will return to Tuscaloosa this summer on June 20th for his fifth visit since his recruitment began, but this time, he will make his first official visit to the Crimson Tide's campus.
